The goal of Honor’s flagship smartphones for 2024 is to push the boundaries of hardware. Honor Magic6 and Magic6 Pro are equipped with Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 CPU. Bright LTPO OLED screens, and powerful triple cameras, with the Pro model including a 180MP periscope.
6.8-inch curved LTPO AMOLED screens with 1,264 x 2,800px resolution and a configurable 1-120Hz refresh rate are featured on the Magic6 and 6 Pro. In default mode, Honor claims a peak brightness of 1,800 nits. For HDR content, it can reach an astounding 5,000 (five thousand!) nits of local peak brightness.
Both screens also feature 4,320Hz ultra-high frequency PWM dimming and include a 50MP front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture. The Magic6 has a single punch hole cutout. While the Pro has an additional 3D depth face unlock module that is housed in a pill.
A revamped camera
island on the rear houses a 50MP primary camera on the Magic6 Pro with an f/1.4-f/2.0 variable aperture and a 50MP f/1.9 shooter on the Magic6. Honor is also releasing a 50MP ultrawide lens and a 180MP periscope lens with 2.5x optical zoom and up to 100x digital zoom for its Pro model.
Alongside a 50MP ultrawide lens, the non-Pro is equipped with a 32MP telephoto lens featuring 2.5 optical and 50x digital zoom. Honor’s new MagicOS 8.0, which is based on Android 14, is preinstalled on both phones. On the Pro variant, you may select between 12 and 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage.
With a 5,450mAh battery capacity and 66W wired and 50W wireless charging using Honor’s in-house wireless charger, the Honor Magic6 is a powerful device. Upgrading to a 5,600 mAh battery with 80W wired and 66W wireless charging, the Pro version.
With support for Bluetooth 5.3 and Wi-Fi 7, connection is even more excellent. The Magic6 Pro also benefits from satellite connectivity in China. Both phones come with IP68 dustproof and water resistance along with IR blasters for controlling household equipment.
The colors of the Honor Magic 6 and 6 Pro are black, green, blue, purple, and white. The 12/256GB Magic6 starts at CNY 4,399 ($620) in China, and the 16GB RAM and 1TB storage Magic6 Pro is the most expensive model at CNY 6,699 ($943). Open sales in China are expected to start on January 18. Information on availability and prices will be released later for overseas customers.
